Michigan State Police

Established over a century ago, the Michigan State Police was created in 1917. Over the years, the agency has adapted and expanded to meet society changing needs. In its early years, the MSP constructed several posts in the 1930s and 1940s with the help of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Today, some of these posts have been repurposed, serving as museums or district headquarters, while others still function as intended.
