You can get a copy of your Carmichael police report at AccidentReports.com, or you can go through the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office.
The Sacramento Sheriff’s Office offers two ways to obtain a copy of your report.

In-Person

You can visit the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office Community Services Building in person to fill out a Record Release Form to obtain a copy of your report.

You can send a written request to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, the accident report fee, and a copy of your valid photo ID.

A Sacramento Sheriff’s Office accident report will cost $10 per copy.

Accident reports will include information such as the contact details for every party involved, each driver’s insurance information, driver’s license number, and license plate number.

The report also contains:

• A diagram of the accident scene
• A description of any accident injuries sustained
• Vehicle damage
• Any citations issued
• Any arrests made
• Anything the police officer believes contributed to the crash, such as road closures, inclement weather, or debris on the road.
• Traffic accident reports will also have a section dedicated to the police officer’s accident investigation findings. This portion of the report details how the accident occurred, why, and which driver the police officer believed was negligent.

Filing guidelines can vary, depending on accident type. For simple accidents, reports should be available within five to seven business days. For a hit-and-run crash, collisions that involve any type of crime, or if a fatality was involved, a report may be unavailable for several months. Contact law enforcement services to learn more.

Eligible persons who can obtain a copy of an unredacted traffic accident report include all parties involved in the accident, vehicle owners, insurance companies, accident lawyers, and the parent or legal guardian of a minor.
