National City Police Department accident reports are $15 per copy.

Traffic accident reports are legal documents that are filled out by a police officer who responds to the scene of an accident. The report contains basic details such as the time, date, and location of the crash, the names and contact information for all parties involved, insurance information, driver’s license numbers, vehicle plate numbers, a diagram of the crash site, witness names and contact numbers, and statements made by each driver.

The report will also include the officer’s accident investigation findings, detailing how the accident took place and why, and which driver the officer believed was responsible. The law enforcement officer will document any injuries sustained by drivers or passengers, vehicle damage, and other personal property damage.

Other information in a crash report includes:

• Actions of police officers, such as the issuance of traffic citations, arrests made
• Anything that may have contributed to the crash, such as weather and road conditions.

Eligible persons who can receive a crash accident report include all parties involved in the accident, vehicle owners, the parent or legal guardian of a minor involved in a crash, accident attorneys, insurance companies, and law enforcement agencies.
