You can get a copy of your Sacramento police report at AccidentReports.com, or you can go through the Sacramento Police Department.
The Sacramento Police Department offers two ways to get a copy of your crash report.

Request Report In-Person

You can visit the Sacramento Police Department in person to fill out a Records Request form and submit it to receive a copy of your traffic incident report.

You must show your driver’s license or government-issued photo ID when filling out the application form. A credit card, debit card, money order, or personal check is an acceptable form of payment.

By Mail

You can send a written request to the Sacramento Police Department, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, copy of your driver’s license, current email, payment for the report, and send it to:

Personal check or money order is an acceptable form of payment for mailed requests.

This type of report is $10 per copy. A credit card, debit card, personal check, or money order is an acceptable form of payment.

• The names and contact information for all parties involved in the collision
• The crash narrative, written by the reporting police officer includes how, why, when, and where the accident occurred and which party the police officer believes was at fault.
• A diagram of the crash scene
• Accident type
• License plate numbers/VINs
• Drivers license numbers
• Time, date, and location of the accident
• Insurance information/insurance policy information
• Witness statements and contact information
• Any citations issued
• Weather and road conditions
• A description of bodily injury sustained in the motor vehicle crash
• A description of vehicle damage and personal property damage

• Any party involved in the crash

• The parent or legal guardian of a minor involved in the motor vehicle crash

If your accident occurred outside of the South Sacramento Police Department’s jurisdiction, it would be filed with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

The South Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department handles accidents that occur on highways, in rural areas and in other areas outside of the SPD’s jurisdiction.
