In-Person

Visit the Turlock Police Department in person to request a copy of your traffic accident report. You will need to fill out the Request for Release of a Police Report Form, pay the accident report fee, and show your valid photo ID at the time of pick up.

A Turlock Police Department accident report may cost $6 to $23 per copy.

Typically, a report is filed within seventy-two hours following an accident. However, if it was a fatal crash, or the accident involved significant property damage or bodily injuries, your report may be unavailable for several weeks or months, or until the police investigation has concluded.

Traffic accident reports are filled out by police officers who respond to the scene of an accident. These documents contain some basic information, including driver’s license numbers, contact information for all parties involved, vehicle plate numbers, and insurance information.
Crash reports also include:

• Time, date, and location of accident

• Accident type, such as fatal crash, head-on crash, fatal motorcycle crash, DUI crash, etc.
• Anything that may have contributed to the accident, including road closures or a traffic jam.
• A police officer will complete an accident investigation to determine how and why the accident took place and which driver they believed was negligent and will note their findings in the report.

Eligible parties who can receive a copy of an unredacted traffic report include all parties involved in the accident, the vehicle owner, insurance companies, personal injury attorneys, the parent or legal guardian of a minor, and law enforcement agencies.
