Houston and San Antonio accident reports cost $6.00 per copy. Forms of accepted payment include payment by check, money orders, debit card, and credit card. Payment in the form of cash is not accepted for mail-in requests. 

TX accident reports are not available immediately after a collision. Instead, you must wait for the responding police officer to close their investigation and file the report. Typically, a law enforcement officer will file the public information report within twenty-four to seventy-two hours after the accident. However, the processing time can vary. You can expect to wait a minimum of eight business days before the report is available. If there was a fatality, crime, or personal injury involved, the report will not be available until the investigative process has concluded. Accident report requests are processed in the order they are received. Mail-in requests can take significantly longer than in-person requests.
