You can obtain a copy of your traffic report by visiting the Texas Department of Transportation’s website and utilizing their Crash Report Online Purchase System.

Public records Requests By Phone

Contact the department by phone to request a copy of your automobile accident report. Report requests by phone must be paid by credit card or debit card. 

By Mail

Send a written request to the Irving Police Department and include the appropriate fee, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. For payments by mail, you must include a money order or cashier’s check made payable to the City of Irving.

Motor vehicle crash reports are $6 per copy. 

• The names and contact information for every party involved in the accident, including all drivers, passengers, and witnesses
• The reporting law enforcement officer’s opinion regarding how they believe the accident occurred, why, and which party was responsible for the collision 
• Road and weather conditions 
• Insurance policy information 
• Driver’s license numbers 
• License plate numbers/vehicle identification number 
• Description of vehicle damage/property damage 
• Description of bodily injuries/personal injury sustained 
• Any citations issued or arrests made (DWI, DUI, speeding, seatbelt, failure to yield, etc.) 
• A diagram of the automobile accident scene 
• Automobile accident type, such as scooter accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, multi-vehicle collision, rollover collision, head-on collision, etc. 
• Responding law enforcement agency and the name and badge number of the reporting police officers
