Requesting a Non-Toll Road Crash Report

For collisions that took place on non-toll roads, you can request your report from the New Jersey State Police.

Requesting a Toll Road Accident Report

For collisions that took place on the Garden State Parkway toll roads or New Jersey Turnpike, you can request a copy of your report through the Toll Road Crash Report website.

• Driver’s license numbers
• The time, date, and location of the accident
• The names and contact details of all parties involved
• VINs and vehicle make and model
• Insurance information
• Vehicle registration information
• The name and badge number of the reporting police officer
• The name of the responding law enforcement agency
• A description of vehicle damage and other personal property damage
• A description of any personal injuries
• Anything that may have contributed to the accident (debris on the road, broken or missing traffic lights and signs, inclement weather, etc.)
• Accident type (pedestrian accident, motorcycle accident, bicycle accident, rear-end collision, rollover, etc.)
• Any citations issued or arrests made (DWI, DUI, speeding, reckless driving, etc.)
• A diagram of the crash site

When you file an insurance claim after an accident, the insurance company will request a copy of your New Jersey police report. The report contains important information, including a description of vehicle and property damage, personal injuries, and the opinion of the law enforcement officer concerning who they believe is liable for the accident.
