You can get a copy of your Rhode Island police report at AccidentReports.com, or you can go through the Rhode Island State Police.The Rhode Island State Police Department offers two ways to obtain a copy of your report.

Online Accident Report Requests

Visit the Rhode Island State Police Department’s website, fill out an online form and provide your email address to learn how to get a copy of your crash report online. Accidents that involved a fatality will not be available online.

By Mail Requests

You can request a copy of your Rhode Island car accident report by mail. To do so, you must send a copy of your identification card, a self-addressed stamped envelope with your current address and contact information, along with a $15 money order or check made payable to “State of Rhode Island”.Mailing address:Rhode Island State Police: Accident Bureau311 Danielson PikeNorth Scituate, RI02857.The police department does not allow walk-in requests at this time.

Copies of police reports are $5. The department accepts money order payments, major credit cards, checks via mail, and debit card payments. Make the check or money order payable to the Rhode Island State Police Department.

Your traffic report will be available three business days after the accident occurred. Accidents that involved a fatality, vehicle crime, property crime, or extensive vehicle damage or personal injury may be unavailable for several weeks or months or until the investigation of traffic crashes has been completed.

• The time, date, and location of the crash
• Diagram of the accident scene
• Description of personal injuries and vehicle damage
• The reporting police officer’s opinion regarding who they believe was at fault for the accident

If you’re not able to track down your agency report, it’s possible it was filed by another local law enforcement agency.Contact the following departments to locate your report:
