Accident Reports

You can get a copy of your Lynwood police report at AccidentReports.com, or you can go through the Century Sheriff’s Station. The Century Sheriff’s Station offers two ways to get your copy.

In-Person

Requesting Through The Mail

In person, if your accident report is available, you will be able to receive it the same day. You can call ahead and speak with a law enforcement officer to learn if your report is ready for pick up. If you make a request, but your report has not been processed yet by the Sheriff’s Department, your report may not be available for ten to fifteen business days. Mail requests are processed in the order they are received. If you have not received your report in the mail after fifteen days, contact the department directly.

Accident reports are legal documents that are filled out by police officers at the scene of a crash.In a collision report, you’ll find information such as:

• The time, date, and location of the accident
• Vehicle plate numbers
• Insurance information
• The names and contact details for all parties involved
• Any citations issued
• A diagram of the accident scene
• Anything that may have contributed to the accident, such as road closures or a traffic jam
• The document also details bodily injuries sustained in the crash and vehicle damage
• The accident investigation portion of the report will detail how and why the officer believed the accident occurred if there were crimes in progress, statements from both drivers, and which party they felt was responsible.

Eligible persons who can obtain a copy of an unredacted traffic accident report include all parties involved in the crash, insurance companies, the parent or legal guardian of a minor, accident attorneys, vehicle owners, and law enforcement agencies.
