You can expect to pay $5-$20 for a copy of your traffic accident report.

Reports must be processed and reviewed before they are released. You can anticipate waiting for ten to fourteen business days before your collision report is available. If it was a fatal accident, an accident with injury or a crime was involved, your report may be unavailable for several months due to an ongoing investigation.

• The contact information and names of all parties involved
• Time, date, and location of the accident
• Diagram of the accident scene
• Accident summary that includes the reporting law enforcement officer’s opinion concerning how the accident happened and which party the police officer believes was responsible for the accident.
• Description of personal injuries
• Description of vehicle damage and personal property damage
• Insurance information
• Drivers license numbers
• Accident type, such as pedestrian accident, bicycle collision, two-vehicle crash, etc.
• License plate numbers and VINs

The following parties will have access to traffic accident reports:

• All parties involved in the collision
• Insurance adjuster from an involved driver’s insurance company
• Accident attorney
• The parent or legal guardian of a minor
• Law enforcement agencies
